CarpentryMediaAudience Valuation Tool

What is your
audience
actually worth?

Follower count is a vanity number. Buyers don't come from followers — they come from the people who already stop, read, and reply. Enter three numbers below and see what those people are worth, and the seven ways to collect it.

Step 01 — Measure

Likes + comments on a normal post — not your best one ever. Skip your viral outliers.

Step 02 — The cut list

Seven income streams,
ordered by how much
of it you own

The order matters. The streams at the top are assets you build once and control forever. The ones at the bottom are rented — the income stops the day you stop posting. Most creators start at 07 and never build 01.

01

Digital Productsowned

A course, workshop, playbook, or template pack that packages what you already teach for free into something people can buy and follow. Built once, sold indefinitely — this is the flagship, and for most creators it's the single biggest number on this page.

Typical price  $97–$2,000Effort  High to build, near-zero to deliverAssumes  1–3% of warm audience, one launch
Your estimate / year
$9,356$28,067
02

Membership & Communityowned

A paid space — Discord, Circle, Whop, Skool — where your audience gets ongoing access to you and to each other. Lower price, paid every month, and it turns one-time buyers into a predictable revenue floor.

Typical price  $19–$99 / monthEffort  Ongoing, but shared with membersAssumes  0.5–1.5% subscribe, 8-month tenure
Your estimate / year
$4,410$13,230
03

High-Ticket Coachingowned

One-to-one or small-group work with the sliver of your audience who want the result now and will pay for speed. A handful of clients replaces a hundred product sales — but it costs you calendar, so it caps out fast.

Typical price  $1,500–$10,000Effort  High — trades your time directlyAssumes  0.1–0.3% of warm audience
Your estimate / year
$5,670$17,010
04

Paid Newsletterowned

A premium tier of writing — deeper analysis, private breakdowns, the stuff too valuable to post publicly. Cheap to run, compounds quietly, and gives you an email list you own outright rather than rent from an algorithm. Small money at your size; large money at scale.

Typical price  $5–$15 / monthEffort  Consistent writing cadenceAssumes  0.3–1% pay, $9/mo, 9 months
Your estimate / year
$765$2,552
05

Live Experiencesowned

Cohorts, live workshops, ticketed events, retreats. Scarcity and a start date create urgency a self-paced product never will, and people pay a premium to be in the room. Runs a few times a year, not always-on.

Typical price  $150–$3,000 per seatEffort  Intense, but in short burstsAssumes  0.4–1.2% attend, ~2 events/year
Your estimate / year
$5,620$16,859
06

Affiliate & Partner Revenueborrowed

Commission on the tools, gear, and courses you already recommend for free. The easiest stream to switch on because it requires nothing new to exist — but you're monetising someone else's product, at their margin, on their terms.

Typical price  5–40% commissionEffort  Low — bolt it onto existing contentAssumes  $1–$3.50 per warm fan / year
Your estimate / year
$3,150$11,025

Brand Deals & Sponsorshipsrented

Selling access to your attention, priced on reach. Real money and no product to build — but you're renting out the audience you spent years earning, the rate is set by someone else, and the income stops the moment you stop posting.

Typical price  $15–$35 CPMEffort  Low per deal, but never endsAssumes  25–40% reach, 8–12 deals/year
Your estimate / year
$1,350$7,560
If you ran all seven
$30,321$96,302

Almost nobody runs all seven. Most creators who make real money run two or three, and the realistic sequence is 01, then 02, then 03 — the total above is a ceiling, not a forecast.

These are planning estimates built on published industry benchmarks, not promises. They assume you actually launch — most of this money is unrealised precisely because the products don't exist yet. Conversion depends on offer quality, audience trust, and execution, and no calculator can measure those three. The full method and every assumption is below.

Step 03 — The method

How these
numbers are built

Every assumption below comes from published 2026 benchmark data, not from us. If you think one is wrong for your audience, it probably is — that's what the call is for.

Warm audience
Your average engagement per post × 3.5 (TikTok 3×, YouTube 4×). Different people engage with different posts, so the pool of people reachable in a launch window is several times any single post's engagement. YouTube gets a slightly higher multiplier because long-form viewers who never like or comment still watch, so engagement understates reachable audience more than on feed platforms. We use deliberately low multipliers.
Launch conversion
1–3% of that warm audience. Published course-launch benchmarks put conversion at 1–3% of a warm email list, rising to ~5% for exceptionally well-warmed lists. Social audiences are colder than email lists, so we use the standard band, not the optimistic one. TikTok is lowered to 0.5–1.5%; LinkedIn raised to 1–2.5%; YouTube raised slightly to 1.2–3% given the higher trust built by long-form watch time.
Membership
0.5–1.5% of warm audience subscribing, held for 8 months. Paid communities average 6–9% monthly churn, implying 11–16 months of tenure; we assume 8 to account for first-year ramp.
High-ticket
0.1–0.3% of warm audience at roughly 6× your product price, floored at $1,500 and capped at $10,000.
Paid newsletter
0.3–1% of warm audience at $9/month for 9 months. Median free-to-paid newsletter conversion is 0.62% of a free list; the widely quoted 5–10% figure describes top-decile publications only.
Live experiences
0.4–1.2% of warm audience per year at 1.5× your product price, across roughly two events.
Affiliate
$1–$3.50 per warm audience member per year. The widest-variance stream on this page — it depends entirely on whether you promote actively or passively.
Sponsorships
Reach of 25–40% of followers, at a $15–$35 CPM, across 8–12 deals a year. Independent rate guides put micro-creator CPMs at $15–$35 and typical reach at 20–40% of follower count.
Platform intent
Every stream except sponsorships is scaled by how ready that platform's audience is to buy: TikTok at 0.4×, LinkedIn at 1.3×, YouTube at 1.2×, everything else at 1×. A TikTok audience is younger, colder, and arrives via algorithm rather than trust, so its non-flagship streams are discounted; YouTube is uplifted because subscribers spend minutes, not seconds, with you.
Engagement estimate
If you use "estimate this for me", we apply 2026 platform averages for creator accounts: Instagram 1.6%, LinkedIn 3.0%, TikTok 3.5%, YouTube 2.5% (likes + comments against subscriber count), Facebook 0.8%, X 0.6%. Your real number is always better than our estimate.
